LiCO - Simplifying and accelerating deep learning application development

David Ellison, PhD, Senior Artificial Intelligence Data Scientist, Lenovo The practical application of deep learning in enterprise is largely an empirical science. From testing different AI frameworks and different network architectures to hyperparameter tuning and data augmentation, the process of finding the right model for a use case can be both daunting and time consuming for your data science teams. Having the right infrastructure in place to help manage that process and software stack is a significant multiplier on progress. To overcome these challenges, Lenovo is introducing LiCO (Lenovo Intelligent Computing Orchestrations) which is a software solution aimed at simplifying and accelerating AI application development. It is built upon commonly used AI frameworks, manages resources for distributed training, and incorporates workflow templates for typical tasks such as image recognition. Consequently, enterprises will be able to easily manage open source and cluster management, optimize hardware Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and effectively manage complex workflows. In partnership with North Carolina State University, we will demonstrate how LiCO is leveraging deep learning and Intel technology to help improve the accuracy of geospatial analytics.
